Psychological & Neuropsychological Testing & Evaluation

Psychological and neuropsychological testing in Florida

We Care Support Services provides psychological and neuropsychological testing for children, teens and adults at offices in Orlando, West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. Every evaluation is led by licensed clinicians, uses standardized, evidence-based tests, and ends with a feedback session and a written report with practical recommendations. Call (877) 302-5628 to find the right evaluation.

What is the difference between psychological and neuropsychological testing?

Both use standardized tests, a clinical interview and a written report. The difference is the main question being answered.

  • Psychological testing looks at how a person thinks, feels and behaves: intellectual ability, learning, attention, mood, personality and whether a diagnosis such as autism, ADHD, anxiety or a learning disability fits. It usually takes 3 to 6 hours of testing.
  • Neuropsychological testing goes deeper into how the brain is working: memory, processing speed, language, visual-spatial skills and executive functions such as planning and flexibility. It is often recommended after a concussion or brain injury, with epilepsy or other medical conditions, or when a psychological evaluation leaves questions open. It usually takes 5 to 8 hours of testing.

Not sure which you need? Tell us what prompted the referral (school concerns, a doctor’s recommendation, a legal question or your own questions) and we will recommend the shortest evaluation that fully answers it. Many families start with psychological testing and only add neuropsychological measures when the results point that way.

Which evaluation do you need?

Autism testing

For toddlers, children and teens with social, communication or behavioral differences. Uses the ADOS-2 and developmental history.

Adult autism testing

For adults who suspect autism, including those who mask. Neurodiversity-affirming and respectful.

ADHD testing

For children, college students and adults with attention, focus or impulsivity concerns.

Psychological testing

Learning disabilities, giftedness, intellectual ability, mood, personality and diagnostic clarification.

Neuropsychological assessment

Memory, attention, processing speed and executive function, including after concussion or with neurological conditions.

Independent educational evaluations

A second opinion when parents disagree with a school district’s evaluation.

Forensic evaluations

Criminal responsibility, risk, juvenile and mitigation evaluations for attorneys and courts.

Competency evaluations

Competence to proceed, guardianship and decision-making capacity under Florida law.

Immigration evaluations

Extreme hardship, asylum, VAWA, U and T visa, and N-648 disability waiver evaluations.

How every evaluation works

  1. Intake call: we learn your questions, verify insurance and explain costs.
  2. Clinical interview: developmental, medical, school, work and legal history as relevant.
  3. Testing: usually one to three appointments.
  4. Feedback session: we explain results and next steps in plain language.
  5. Written report: for you, and for schools, doctors, employers, attorneys or courts with your permission.

We are in network with Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, UMR, Oscar Health, MultiPlan, Medicare and VA Community Care.
