Evaluations available in Orlando

How an evaluation works at our Orlando office

  1. Intake call. We learn what questions you want answered, check your insurance and explain costs before anything is booked.
  2. Clinical interview. A licensed clinician reviews developmental, medical, school and work history. Bring any past reports, IEPs or 504 plans.
  3. Testing sessions. Most evaluations involve one to three testing appointments, depending on the questions and the age of the person being tested.
  4. Feedback session. We explain the results, any diagnosis, and practical recommendations for home, school, work or treatment.
  5. Written report. You receive a detailed report you can share with your school, doctor, employer or attorney.

Supporting Orlando families beyond the evaluation

A diagnosis is most useful when it opens doors. For students in Orange County Public Schools and nearby districts, our reports are written so school teams can use them when considering an IEP or 504 plan. For children diagnosed with autism, the report can support applications for services such as the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities, and families can connect with UCF CARD, the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities that serves Central Florida. For legal matters in the Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola counties), our forensic reports are prepared to meet court and attorney requirements.

Cost and insurance

We are an in-network provider for Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, UMR, Oscar Health, MultiPlan, Medicare and VA Community Care. With insurance, you are responsible for your deductible and copays. Many plans do not cover educational, ADHD-only or court-ordered evaluations. Our standard out-of-network rate is $160 per hour, and a comprehensive assessment usually totals 12 to 18 billable hours. Court-ordered evaluations start at $250 per hour. See rates and insurance for details.

Our clinicians

Evaluations are led by licensed professionals under the direction of Dr. Moresa Mowatt, Psy.D., a licensed school psychologist with more than 17 years of experience assessing children, teens and adults. Meet the full team on our Our Team page.

Orlando autism and ADHD testing FAQs

How soon can I get an autism or ADHD evaluation in Orlando?

Wait times change during the year and are often longest before the school year starts. Call (877) 302-5628 for the next available appointment at our Orlando office.

Do you test adults in Orlando, or only children?

We evaluate children, teens and adults. Adult autism and adult ADHD testing are some of our most requested services in Orlando.

Can I use your evaluation for Orange County Public Schools?

Yes. Schools must consider outside evaluations when making decisions about an IEP or 504 plan. If you disagree with the school’s own evaluation, you may also have the right to request an independent educational evaluation at public expense.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and any past evaluations, report cards, IEPs, 504 plans or medical records. For a child, questionnaires from teachers are also helpful.
