Youth Pre-employment Transition Services
At We Care Support, we believe that preparing for the future should be engaging, empowering, and practical. In partnership with the Community Action Division of Orange County, we are proud to offer specialized Youth Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Camps designed for students with disabilities.
These interactive camps provide a dynamic environment where youth in Orlando and Central Florida can build essential skills for the workforce while gaining confidence and making new connections.
About Our Youth Pre-ETS Camps
Our camps go beyond the classroom. We focus on hands-on learning and real-world application to help students bridge the gap between school and their future careers. Supported by the **Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)**, these services are often available at no cost to eligible families.
Camp Services & Activities
Our curriculum is designed to target the core skills employers are looking for, delivered in a supportive and youth-friendly setting:
1. Workplace Readiness Training
We help students develop the “soft skills” critical for job retention. Campers participate in workshops focused on:
- Communication and teamwork.
- Professionalism and workplace etiquette.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Financial literacy and independent living basics.
2. Work-Based Learning Experiences
Students get the chance to step out of their comfort zone and into the professional world. Our camps include:
- Job Shadowing: Observing professionals in various industries.
- Career Tours: Visiting local businesses in Orange County to see how they operate.
- Mock Interviews: Practicing interview skills with real feedback from mentors.
3. Self-Advocacy Training
We empower youth to become their own best advocates. Students learn to:
- Understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.
- Request reasonable accommodations confidently.
- Lead their own IEP or 504 plan meetings.
- Set personal and professional goals.
Partnership & Eligibility
These services are provided in collaboration with the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR). We work closely with local VR offices to identify students who can benefit most from these comprehensive transition camps.
