Competency Evaluations

For families and care providers, it’s important to know whether or not patients are mentally capable of making their own decisions, especially those involving health or finances.

At We Care Support Services, we provide competency evaluations to determine a patient’s ability to understand information and form conclusions. Depending on the type of competency in question, our experienced psychologists will assess a variety of factors during their exam including memory, processing speed, judgment, health and safety awareness and abstract reasoning. Once the evaluation is complete, the results may be used within legal proceedings and court applications for guardianship.
